1995 Billy Dean |
|
| I met Billy Dean at Harlan Howard’s birthday bash in Nashville, Tenn. and he asked me if I had any songs for his upcoming album. I said, “Yes.” Here is how the song came about. A friend of mine Don Mealer and I were traveling to Montana to vacation and write with Kostas, a well-known songwriter. Don and I were listening to the CB radio and the truckers. When all of a sudden a, how should I say this? Uh… uh… a man of female persuasion began talking on the CB. His words were, in a female voice, “Breaker-breaker-breaker-breaker is anyone out there?” The trucker broke in on the CB and spoke to the she-male as truckers sometimes do. His words were, “BOY, if I could get my hands on you, I’d wear you out!!!” The she-male responded to the trucker with one of the greatest lines I have ever heard. He said, “Wellll, DON’T THREATEN ME WITH A GOOD TIME!!” Don and I, after laughing all the way to Montana, took that phrase and finished the song with Kostas. Thanks to the trucker and the person of female persuasion on the CB, Billy Dean recorded this song. |
